Recently, iWayAfrica, a pan-African provider of satellite telecommunications services and solutions in Africa, has signed an agreement with Avanti Communications Group, a satellite operator and provider of satellite data services in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The agreement will allow iWayAfrica to deploy satellite broadband services from Avanti's HYLAS 4 satellite to consumers and businesses throughout sub-Saharan Africa.
According to Mathew Welthagen, chief executive officer of Gondwana International Networks, parent company of iWayAfrica, the contract with Avanti Communications Group reinforces the capabilities of the Internet service provider in Africa. With its HYLAS 2 satellite, Avanti's is already present in 44 African countries in eastern and southern Africa. As for HYLAS 4, launched in April 2018, it will expand its capabilities to new markets in West and Central Africa.
It is the awaited solution by the people of the continent who live particularly in the rural and isolated areas where terrestrial networks are limited.
