The center aims to promote joint innovation with local partners, app developers, and small enterprises in the ICT sector. It showcases Huawei's cutting-edge technologies, such as 5G, Cloud and AI.
President Ramaphosa praised the center and emphasized the government's focus on digital technologies for economic development and digital transformation across industries. Huawei's role in cultivating local digital talent through various programs was acknowledged.
Chinese Ambassador, HE Chen Xiaodong, highlighted the cooperation between South Africa and China in accelerating 5G deployment and embracing the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Huawei's President for Sub-Saharan Africa, Leo Chen, expressed pride in working with the South African government to contribute to the country's digital economy and infrastructure development.
