Ericsson and MTN Benin have collaborated to recycle MTN Benin’s end-of-life electronic and electrical equipment as part of the Ericsson Product Take-Back Program. The collaboration has resulted in the collection, decommissioning, transportation and recycling of over 123 metric tons of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) since 2021.
The adoption of 5G technology in Africa is surging significantly, with a 47-fold increase in subscriptions projected over the next five years. ESCWA organized a workshop on building trust in digital government services in collaboration with the Arab Information and Communication Technologies Union (AICTU), the Internet Society and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The workshop took place over two days, on September 11 and 12, 2023.
