Vodacom South Africa has officially launched a platform to support mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) and has signed its first client, Mr Price Mobile. With this new partnership, Mr Price Mobile can now activate customers on Vodacom's network, marking the platform’s operational debut.

Ethio Telecom, Ethiopia's state-owned telecom provider, is aiming for a significant revenue increase this financial year, with CEO Frehiwot Tamru announcing a bold target of a 75% growth. The company is projecting sales of 163.7 billion birr ($1.44 billion) by July 2024 and aims to expand its customer base by 6%, reaching 83 million users.

Vodacom Tanzania Plc has announced strong financial results for the fiscal year ending March 2024, with total revenues reaching TZS 1.3 trillion ($477.9 million), a 19.4% increase from the previous year. Profit after tax also rose by 19.9%, reaching TZS 53.4 billion ($19.8 million). This growth was largely driven by M-PESA, which saw a revenue increase of 27.8%, totaling TZS 456.3 billion ($167.7 million) and accounting for 36.3% of the company’s overall service revenue.

Ethio Telecom has launched its Copper Switch-Off Strategic Initiative, aiming to migrate 100,000 copper-based customers to high-speed fiber optic connections this fiscal year. The plan includes migrating 60,000 customers in Addis Ababa and 40,000 in regional areas, with the first wave of 31,000 customers starting in early October.

e& Egypt has signed an agreement with the National Company for Telecommunication Services (NCTS), under the Ministry of Defense, to provide advanced telecom services via the "Tiba 1" satellite. The deal was signed by Hossam El-Meadawy, CEO of the institutional sector at e& Egypt, and Samy Shedied, chairman and managing director of NCTS.
