Nokia and Google Cloud announced a five-year strategic collaboration that will see Nokia migrate its on-premise IT infrastructure onto Google Cloud. Nokia will migrate its data centers and servers around the world, as well as various software applications, onto Google Cloud infrastructure.

CommScope announced three new solutions empowering global operators to take the next step towards 10G, using the latest Remote PHY (R-PHY) and MACPHY Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) technologies. These additions give operators a new range of choices for realizing the advantages of DAA in both traditional segmented and fiber-deep architectures.

Nokia announced that it will supply Nigerian mobile operator, Tizeti with its Fastmile and Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology enabling them to provide superior internet services to over one million subscribers in Port Harcourt, Edo and Ogun in Nigeria. Tizeti will deploy Nokia's AirScale Base Station TDD-LTE and Fastmile Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) gateways to deliver premium internet and Virtual Private Network (VPN) services to residences as well as Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The solution will also enable Tizeti to deliver a more robust, high-speed internet service to subscribers and the flexibility to seamlessly evolve to 5G Fixed Wireless Access when needed.

ZTE Corporation, a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the mobile internet, launched its first 5G Wireless Router, ZTE 5G Indoor CPE MC801A, in South Africa in collaboration with MTN, one of the leading telecommunications operators in South Africa.
