Qualcomm Technologies announced the new RFFE modules targeted for best-in-class Wi-Fi and Bluetooth experiences. The expanded portfolio is designed for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 6E, and the next-generation standard, Wi-Fi 7. The modules are designed for a wide array of device segments beyond smartphones.

In continued efforts to support the growing electric vehicle (EV) segment, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. announced a next-generation powerline communication (PLC) device, the QCA7006AQ, designed to address the needs for electric vehicle (EV) charging station communications – also known as electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) – that use global Combined Charging System (CCS). The PLC device is based on Qualcomm Technologies’ market proven QCA700X family of products, which have been widely adopted in EV on-board charging units and charging stations across the globe. The QCA7006AQ is compliant with the Home Plug Green PHY (HPGP) specification, which is the leading specification for implementing Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) systems.

Satellite company SES reported a solid set of first-quarter operating results. The company delivered a strong operational performance in its networks business. Their video business continues to deliver long-term value for customers as demonstrated by the most recent deal announced with long-term partner Sky UK, valued at around €85 million.

In its recently-published Mobility Report, Ericsson forecast that the number of 5G mobile subscriptions will surpass 1 billion by the end of 2022. By 2027, that number will grow to 4.4 billion, about three-quarters of the world's population, according to the Swedish tech company.

Ericsson and Free in Senegal have collaborated to demonstrate immersive 5G experiences at the Free Senegal Innovation Xperience (FIneX) ceremony. The selected demos include music connect, connected healthcare, connected vehicles and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) for smart homes, primarily focused on the role of 5G in enabling a more intelligent society. The demos also highlight the role of connectivity and cellular technology in driving digital transformation for consumers and industries across Senegal.
