In an exclusive interview with Telecom Review Africa, Magesh Balakrishnan, Head of MEA Sales at Radisys, announced the launch of Radisys’ Reach Phone Lite, an affordably priced 4G feature phone designed to help Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) across Africa and the Middle East migrate 2G and 3G voice-only users to 4G networks by enabling superior experiences. What is the best way to build customer loyalty and pair affordable smartphones with high-value digital services?

It is important first to address how technology is evolving. While some countries around the world are shutting down their 2G and 3G networks, some consumers are still using them due to their affordability. The situation in the Middle East is slightly better; however, in Africa, most of the countries are still struggling.

Radisys is addressing the digital gap by launching the Radisys’ Reach Phone Lite, an affordably-priced 4G feature phone, to help Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) across Africa and the Middle East migrate 2G and 3G voice-only users to 4G networks by enabling superior experiences and bringing a success story to the African market.

Another way that we help build customer loyalty through high-value digital services is by making broadband connectivity accessible to everyone.  During and after COVID, we saw an increase in internet usage globally.  Internet connectivity is critical, and Radisys offers solutions for service providers to make broadband more accessible to all user segments.  For service providers, we show them way to monetize that connectivity through our smart living and smart monitoring products for example, which are suitable for consumers and enterprises.
