MainOne successfully hosted the 12th edition of the African Peering and Interconnection Forum (AfPIF) in Accra, Ghana, reaffirming its dedication to fostering internet growth in Africa. Co-hosted by the Internet Society (ISOC) and the African IXP Association (AFIX), the event attracted a noteworthy assembly of industry leaders, regulators and stakeholders, both global and local — those most responsible for driving Africa's digital landscape forward and enhancing connectivity across the continent.

Emmanuel Kwarteng, MainOne's country manager for Ghana and part of the Equinix Company, underlined the AfPIF 2023's crucial role in cultivating collaborations across Africa's digital ecosystem.

MainOne's role as the host of AfPIF 2023, coupled with its proactive commitment to fostering interconnections, aligns perfectly with its broader mission of propelling digital transformation throughout West Africa. This commitment was further solidified during the event as the Ghana Internet Exchange (GIX) and MainOne announced the extension of the GIX network to the MDXi Appolonia Data Center.

MainOne remains at the forefront of the industry with its investments in infrastructural development and the construction of new data centers across the West African region. Additionally, the company is on track to launch a new data center in Cote d'Ivoire before the end of this year.
