The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has received a high-level delegation including leaders of the Libyan ICT sector, headed by the Chairman of the Libya Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology Holding Company (LPTIC) Faisel Gergab.

From June 2021, it will be possible to use the latest evolution of the Wi-Fi standard which displays speeds much higher than those currently offered. More precisely, Wi-Fi 6E will allow a 40% increase in speed compared to its predecessor, through additional spectrum intended for these new uses.

Cable breaks or faults on subsea optical cables can impact global digital connectivity and have costly ramifications for businesses and internet users. Three such incidents impacted users on the African continent in 2020 alone. Each year more than a hundred cable breaks are recorded across the world causing disruptions to communications and connectivity.

Egypt will launch two satellites next year, including NExSat-1, a lightweight vessel that will be used for remote sensing and scientific research, announced Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Egyptian minister of higher education and scientific research.
