With around 600 attendees, the 13th edition of Telecom Review Leaders’ Summit kicked off today at the Meydan Hotel in Dubai. This edition attracted the ICT industry’s most influential leaders who convened to discuss the changes that happened in the industry since the 12th edition which was held in Beirut in March 2019 and the 11th edition which was held a year ago in Dubai.

On the evening of December 10, and as a wrap up to the 13th edition of Telecom Review Leaders’ Summit 2019, Telecom Review organized the 8th edition of its Excellence Awards ceremony where every year, industry leaders are recognized for what they have accomplished during the year.

After some insightful keynotes given by key industry members which kickstarted the 13th edition of the Telecom Review Summit, the Telecom Leaders’ panel began and essentially set the scene for the discussions that followed.

Smart Kitochi, Vodacom Tanzania new smart feature phone, was launched at this year’s AfricaCom. The phone runs on KaiOS and offers access to popular apps such as WhatsApp, Google Assistant, Facebook, YouTube and the partners encourage local content development to enrich the app offering, along with access to the KaiStore.

Es’hailSat is exhibiting at the annual AfricaCom exhibition in Cape Town international convention center, the biggest and best tech event in Africa that gathers together senior decision-makers from the entire digital ecosystem. Es’hailSat is showcasing Es’hail-1, Es’hail-2 and a wide range of services to be delivered through the new state of the art teleport in Doha. Es’hail-1 and Es’hail-2 are currently transmitting high quality, premium DTH television content from the 25.5°/26° E hotspot.

Mr. Toni Eid, founder of Telecom Review and CEO of Trace Media, and Mr. Hatem Dowidar, CEO, Etisalat International took part in a debate this morning at Telecom Review Leaders’ Summit 2019. The topic of the discussion was '5G serving societies'.

The 22nd edition of AfricaCom kicked off in Cape Town and brought together around 15 000 attendees, 450 speakers and 500 exhibitors. The event which will take place on 12-14 November, focuses on connectivity, disruptive technologies, digital services and ICT strategies.
