Huawei Marine announced completion of the West Africa Cable System (WACS) Upgrade II. The project was signed in February 2018 and successfully put into commercial use in October of the same year. The upgrade realized 32*100G wavelengths configured on the longest optically amplified single fiber span stretching 11500km from South Africa to Portugal.

Swedish telecom vendor Ericsson has surprised analysts with reduced losses in Q4 driven by the increase of sales revenues and costs reduction.
