Telecom Egypt announces that Eng. Mohamed Nasr Eldin Mohamed Ali has been appointed as Managing Director and CEO of the company to succeed Eng. Adel Hamed Ibrahim Gadallah. The board of directors (the “Board”) has accepted Eng. Adel Hamed’s request to be relieved of the position of Managing Director and CEO to assume a new role at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. However, Eng. Hamed will remain on Telecom Egypt’s board of directors as a non-executive member.

Omantel has partnered with data center operator Wingu Group to establish a point of presence (PoP) in Djibouti. The company is thus beginning its expansion into the African market. MTN GlobalConnect has successfully facilitated Group Vivendi Africa's acquisition of subsea capacity from the 2Africa subsea fiber cable. This cable system spans 45,000km and offers a capacity of 180 terabits per second (Tbps), providing much-needed additional international capacity for internet and other services to serve the African continent. This development will increase GVA's capacity and diversify its West African operations, in line with its growth plan for the region.
