MAZIV's recently announced R400 million investment aims to revolutionize South Africa's digital landscape by expanding its network infrastructure. The parent company of Dark Fibre Africa (DFA) and Vuma is driving this transformation.

Vuma, a MAZIV subsidiary, has reached significant milestones, connecting 2 million homes and laying 50,000 kilometers of fiber. It's notably connected 1 million homes in underserved areas in the past 3.5 years. Coupled with DFA's 15,000 km of fiber network, MAZIV is a major connectivity provider.

A groundbreaking MAZIV-Huawei partnership introduces 50GB GPON services on Vuma's network, future-proofing it and meeting evolving customer needs. DFA's R400 million project expands business fiber, improving connectivity for a growing number of businesses. It contributes to digital transformation by boosting online services and economic growth.

DFA's managed services, operating at the “data link layer,” use dedicated connections. An upgrade includes 800 additional tailored Dry Underground Distribution Cabinet (DUDC) units, reducing data travel and downtime. Dewald Booysen and Andreas Uys emphasize network expansion driven by digital transformation to meet South Africa's needs.

DFA, premier in open-access fiber, finances, builds and manages a top-tier fiber network spanning 13,000 km. It offers secure transmission, backbone fiber and connectivity services to various clients. The DFA holds Level 3 B-BBEE Contributor status on the ICT Sector Codes.
