The Agency for Air Navigation Safety in Africa and Madagascar, ASECNA (https://ASECNAonline.asecna.aero), has started to broadcast a SBAS (Satellite-Based Augmentation System) signal over Africa & Indian Ocean (AFI) region, providing the first SBAS open service in this part of the world via NIGCOMSAT-1R Satellite managed and operated by Nigerian Communications Satellite Ltd under Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy of Nigeria.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. announced that during its first quarter of fiscal 2021, its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., which is part of Comtech's Commercial Solutions segment, received a $1.0 million order for satellite ground station equipment from the largest telecommunications company in Africa.
